YONETPO’s mission is to promote youth education, health and empowerment through skills and capacity development, volunteerism and advocacy, thus re-orientating the youths to be productive citizens, thereby sustaining the peace and transforming our society to create positive change.

YOUNETPO Executive Director and Programs and Projects Manager participated in a PEMOS Learning and networking workshop at Royal Grand Hotel, Monrovia. The workshop brought together CSOs leaders and journalist to discuss the possibilities of establishing a Parliamentary Monitoring Network in Liberia that will participate in the Open Parliament Engagements and Networking in West Africa (Open West Africa) Project and beyond. The project seeks to facilitate networking among PEMOs in West Africa.
The Annual Youth Education and Leadership Conference has been an Annual event of Youth Network for Positive Change (YOUNETPO) since 2016. The conference brings together young people; Youth Leaders and relevant Stakeholders within Liberia to discuss critical issues affecting youth integration, Education, Health, as well as, gender equality, climate change and good governance.
Empowering Girls for the Future Project- This project brings together adolescence girls from different schools and communities to be mentor by excellent women leaders who are making headlines in society on the importance of women leadership and how they too can become good leaders.
100 schools in Montserrado County has benefited from the Montserrado Bee program. The program focuses largely on improving the reading, spelling and pronunciation skills of primary students through their participation in academic competitions. Through this program; 10 reading clubs has been established, 5 girls clubs established and 2 scholarships has been awarded
YOUNETPO is an implementing partner under the EpiC Project which is a global project funded by PEPFAR and USAID with FHI360 as prime partner. YOUNETPO is utilizing a human rights-based approach to holistically tackle stigma and discrimination affecting FSW to improve access to HIV/AIDS treatment, care and support. The aim of this grant is to support attainment and maintenance of epidemic control among KPs by delivering HIV prevention, care, and treatment services to FSW and their contacts.
Community Action Platform Against COVID19 (Phase I&II)-The aim of this project was to mobilize community stakeholders to preventative measures against COVID19, promote peace and social cohesion and stop all forms of gender base violence in polarized Communities across Montserrado County.
Funding from the Carter Center is supporting Youth Network for Positive Change (YOUNETPO) in economically empowering a women’s group to establish and register a waste management CBO, YOUNETPO is also conducting awareness-raising activities in three target markets in support of female involvement, engagement, and access to information about municipal services provided by the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC).
Ongoing Environmental awareness and distribution of Brochures, Posters and Facts Sheets on the Socio-economic linkages between sustainable land Management, climate change and biodiversity in Bong County on behalf of EPA. The Cross- Cutting Capacity Development Project (CCCD) is being implemented by the Environment Protection Agency - EPA in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and with funding from the Global Environmental Facility (gef)
Youth Network for Positive Change has an active Board of Directors that have direct oversight responsibilities over the Secretariat headed by the Executive Director and Senior Management Team (SMT) of four persons who runs the day-to-day activities of the organization. All staff and volunteers (Gender sensitive) are between the ages 18-35 making the organization a 100% youth led institution. YOUNETPO also have established policies in place to guide program implementation (eg. Human Resources, Financial Management, Procurement etc).
YOUNETPO Programs & Impact
YOUNETPO' programs and projects has benefited over 10,000 Youths between the ages of 10-35 years; we have impacted over ten (10) Communities in Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Gbarpolu, Bong and Nimba Counties through the following projects:
Education- 100 schools in Montserrado County have benefited from the Montserrado Bee program. The program focuses largely on improving the reading, spelling and pronunciation skills of primary students through their participation in academic competitions. Through this program; 10 reading clubs have been established, 5 girls clubs established, 2 scholarships have been awarded and over 500 books have been distributed across 100 schools. Since 2016, over 300 youths have participated in the Annual Youth Education and Leadership Conference; a platform that strengthens the capacity of young leaders to take on leadership roles and serves as a platform where youth can amplify their voices on issues such as climate change, education, gender equality, health and good governance.
Health- Over 1,000 girls have been reached through our Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Advocacy campaigns. These include; creating awareness campaigns that have specifically focused awareness of HIV/AIDs, Teenage Pregnancy, Gender Based Violence in schools and communities-methods of conducting advocacy campaigns include: utilizing radio (talk show, drama, social media and outreaches (community drama performance, community town hall meeting, peer-peer engagement etc.). 1,307 vulnerable women and girls (FSW), clients have been reached with HIV prevention and treatment packages across 9 health facilities in Commonwealth West Health District.
Good Governance - YOUNETPO engages in multi-stakeholder efforts to promote youth peacebuilding, human rights, youth capacity development and civil engagements. Youth Network for Positive Change has participated and led national advocacy Campaigns including: Petitioning the Liberian National Legislature to implement the Declaration on Parliamentary Openness (2019) and petitioned the Liberian National Legislature to conduct Audit on all Loans taken and Grant Agreements signed by the Government of Liberia to fight the CoronaVirus pandemic in the Country (2020). YOUNETPO has collaborated with the Federation of Liberian Youth in a task force to engage in dialogue with political partners, organize marches for community awareness and collaboration with women and youth leagues of political parties to promote peaceful elections. YOUNETPO has participated in marches to raise awareness on rape and violence against women and girls.
Environment - 4,000 persons (farmers, hunters, miners, community leaders and youths) reached with environmental awareness and distribution of Brochures, Posters and Facts Sheets on the Socio-economic linkages between sustainable land Management, climate change and biodiversity in Bong, Nimba and Gbarpolu Counties. YOUNETPO organized the first youth led Open Dialogue on Climate Change in Liberia.
